Mitsubishi Fuso Canter Article
Farquhar feels flush!
Visitors to agricultural shows, concerts and outdoor events will be able to uncross their legs, thanks to mobile toilet supplier RB Farquhar and its new Mitsubishi Fuso Canter!
Fitted with a ‘Buckaloo’ tanker by Buckinghams, of Kenilworth, Warwickshire, the 7.5-tonne Canter 7C18 was supplied by John R. Weir Truck & Van, Aberdeen, – the Japanese light truck range is sold and supported by Mercedes- Benz in the UK.
The Canter’s role is to service mobile toilet cubicles at public events, and outdoor work locations such as construction sites. It carries pipes and pumping equipment to empty the toilets’ waste tanks and refill their cisterns – the tanker body is split into two compartments, allowing it to carry 550 gallons of waste and 250 gallons of fresh water.
Huntly-based RB Farquhar runs two heavy trucks for delivering toilet cabins and other portable buildings, and servicing vehicles ranging from 3.5 to 7.5 tonnes gvw. It has also ordered another 7.5-tonne Canter, with a platform body and tail lift.
“We’ve had several Canters over the years and they’ve proved themselves extremely reliable,” says Operations Supervisor Paul Farmar. “The engines are absolutely unburstable; they just go on for ever and ever.
“The cabs are now much better than the earlier models, and the impoved three-year, unlimited mileage warranty is a major benefit as we cover big distances.”
