The RB Farquhar prefabricated bathroom pod assembly plant in Chomutov, in the Czech Republic, operates seven days a week. The custom-built 6,500 sq m facility houses over 400 Czech and Scottish employees who have been trained by RB Farquhar in the specialist sub-disciplines of bathroom prefabrication (including steel cold-rolling, panel fabrication, sheeting, tiling, plumbing, electrical and testing).
Current production output is over 10,000 pods per year (approx one pod every 15 minutes).
The Chomutov operations base also houses the RB Farquhar technical design team, which is recognised as the most experienced in the industry. The Czech operations management team includes Michael Shand, managing director of RB Farquhar Manufacturing who relocated with his family to the Czech Republic in 2002 prior to commissioning the new assembly plant.
