To date this has been one of the largest student accommodation projects for RB Farquhar. The building was a traditional build, hollow core slab with 65mm screed.
There were two other areas of special consideration for the project, besides its scale. One was a specification for RB Farquhar to incorporate proprietary GRP shower units manufactured by Advanced Showers into the pod design: the other was environmental assessment by BRE of the materials used in the shower pod construction.
The project successfully achieved “Excellent” ratings under the BREEAM environmental assessment.
