RB Farquhar has recently completed Phases 2 and 3 of this model student village development, bringing up a total of 1500 student and staff bedrooms which will be ready for occupation in summer 2010, out of a planned capacity of over 2100.

Phase 1 saw 661 shower-room pods delivered in 2006/7, while Phases 2 and 3 saw a further 729 pods despatched from the RB Farquhar assembly plant in Chomutov, in the Czech Republic.

The pods were designed and specified by the experienced RB Farquhar design team, and main contractors Leadbitter Construction instigated working groups with the client, supply chain and its own design team to improve modularity and standardised design options.

“Manor Park is a good example of long-term client/contractor/supplier collaboration,” says Patrick Mc Donald, managing director of RB Farquhar Manufacturing.

“By maintaining the same design and construction management teams across all phases of this development, we have been able to deliver real benefits in cost, time and quality improvements.”
