Prefabricated bathroom pods for new Heathrow Travelodge Hotel

UK hotel chain Travelodge pioneered the concept of roadside budget accommodation in 1985, and now has over 300 hotels in the UK, Ireland and Spain. The company has an aggressive UK growth strategy to deliver a total of 32,000 UK bedrooms in the next five years, and become the largest budget accommodation provider in London by the 2012 Olympics.

RB Farquhar has designed and manufactured all bath and shower-rooms for Travelodge since 1998 – a total of over 11,500 prefabricated pods.

The bathroom pods for Travelodge’s new five-storey hotel at Heathrow Terminal Five are the first to be produced in the striking new Travelodge 2010 specification colours of white sanitaryware with pillarbox red ceramic wall tiles and bath panels.

"As the fastest-growing budget hotel chain in the UK, we fully appreciate the quality control benefits of sourcing all our bathrooms from an experienced, off-site prefabrication specialist," said Travelodge Construction Director John Graham.

"During the past eight years, RB Farquhar has made a major contribution to our impressive growth, and we view the company as a valued long-term member of our construction team."
