Major Radisson SAS hotel bathroom pod contracts for RB Farquhar Manufacturing
Market-leading European manufacturer of prefabricated bathroom pods RB Farquhar has this month (July 2007) announced two major new hotel contract awards for bathroom pods worth £1.6 million for Radisson SAS hotel developments.
Both contract awards have been made on behalf of the Belgian-based Rezidor Hotel Group, franchise operators of the Radisson SAS hotels in Europe, by Edinburgh-based main contractor Miller Construction (UK) Ltd.
The Cardiff contract runs from June 2007 to March 2008 and is worth a total of £900k. The architects are Cardiff-based Wigley Fox Partnership, and the contract is for 192 bathroom pods, 12 shower-room pods and 11 accessible pods.
The contract for the Bristol Radisson SAS hotel is worth £700k and runs to the end of 2007. For this project, the mix of pods is 166 bathroom pods and 9 accessible, and the architects are Bristol-based AWW.
“These were the first Radisson SAS bathroom pods to be produced in our bathroom pod assembly plant in Chomutov, in the Czech Republic,” said Patrick McDonald, sales director with RB Farquhar Manufacturing.
“Our designers worked closely with their counterparts in the Rezidor Hotel Group team to ensure the bathroom pods for these contracts conformed in every detail to Radisson SAS specifications.”
